Rob Thomas brought his All Night Days Tour to Boca Raton’s scenic Mizner Park Amphitheater. This was my first time visiting Mizner Park Amphitheater, but it’s a perfect mix of big venue energy with a close, intimate stage. The open-air venue nestled on the end of palm-lined streets and elegant boutiques of the Boca Raton shopping center is a venue I look forward to covering as I make Florida my new home.
A Great Big World: The Perfect Opening Act
The opening act featured New Jersey native Ian Axel as the lead-singer, seated behind a piano. A Great Big World opened in support of Rob Thomas. Axel performed fan favorites like “Say Something” and “This Is the New Year.” Their emotional harmonies and genuine storytelling set a warm and welcoming tone for the night.

Setlist Highlights & Musical Journey
As twilight fell, Rob Thomas emerged launching into “I Believe It,” an upbeat new solo track that ignited the atmosphere. What followed was a masterful blend of:
- Solo hits (Lonely No More, Her Diamonds, This Is How a Heart Breaks, All Night Days)
- Matchbox Twenty classics (3 AM, If You’re Gone)
- Covers, including a nod to INXS with “New Sensation” and the ever-iconic “Smooth” with its Santana ties
Thomas’s vocals stayed strong and emotive throughout the night, seamlessly navigating between soaring highs and introspective moments.
Charisma and Connection
Rob’s stage presence was magnetic. Between songs, he shared stories, cracked jokes, and radiated warmth—his love of performance and gratitude toward fans shone brightly. His backing band was in perfect sync, particularly with his son, Maison Thomas‑Eudy, on guitar, adding both skill and heart to the performance.

Encore & Closing Moments
The night culminated with the encore of “This Is How a Heart Breaks,” leaving the crowd buzzing with excitement. It was the kind of finale that lingers in the heart long after the last note fades.
