Top 10 Reasons to Attend the Solshine Reverie Art & Music Festival
Solshine is fast approaching, and Noise Gate has been officially approved for coverage of the entire event. Whether you are a die-hard music enthusiast or just looking for a way to spend a fun weekend, this festival promises something for everyone. Here are our top 10 reasons why you shouldn’t miss out on this incredible event:
1. Diverse Line-Up of Artists
Not having the music at a music festival at the top of the list seems silly. There are so many great artists performing, it’s hard to single out any one act. The acts we are most excited about include headliners like Deadmau5, John Summit, Slander. We are also very excited for Wreckno (an act that feels perfect for Eurovision) and Venbee, an artist we had the pleasure of seeing at the 2023 SXSW British Music Embassy.
2. Stunning Venue
With a mix of both open fields at the foot of the stages, to the hiking trails that take you through the wooded areas, to the nearby Illinois River, Three Sisters Park offers an unforgettable venue in the heart of Central Illinois.
3. Sustainability Initiatives
The festival is committed to sustainability, with several eco-friendly initiatives in place to minimize environmental impact. Solshine has partnered with Zero Waste Event Productions to spearhead the various initiatives.
4. Vendors
What’s a festival without great food and drinks? The Solshine Music Festival features an array of both local shops along with some traveling vendors that you may see at other festivals this summer. Offering everything from BBQ to vegan friendly options, there will be plenty of great food. The Crave Belly Monster Fries might be the go-to snack this year!
5. Art and Culture Exhibits
Illumination Woods will host one of the more popular music stages over the festival, but will also be the site for vibrant, interactive art installations that are impactful during the day and come to life at night. The Soulpatch is an interactive educational garden with activities, workshops, and more throughout the duration of Solshine.
6. Experimenting with Cameras
A bit of a selfish bullet-point, but we love making photographs. Every one of the staff members and contributors at Noise Gate have a passion and talent for capturing the magic moments and helping share them with the world. Most shows only offer a brief opportunity to do that – three songs, no flash, thanks for coming. Festivals offer an opportunity to photograph the entire story, capturing the performances, the fans, the vendors, the scenery, and so much more. This also gives us the chance to take chances and try new things with our cameras.
7. Field Day
Field Day is a color war at Solshine! The Field Day Champions win a keg party and their team is inscribed on the fresh Solshine Reverie Cup. The winning flag flies at the fest and online till the next champs are crowned.
8. Camping
Who wouldn’t want to camp under the stars in late spring in Central Make. With performances now extended until 4am, make the most of your festival experience by staying right in the heart of the action. Whether is be a simple tent, VIP options, or the full RV experience, we’re looking forward to spending the entire time capturing all the magic of the festival.
9. The People
Festivals like Solshine offer a common ground for people to come together. Festivals give us the chance to share ideas and learn. To experience new things while sharing ourselves with others. Whether it’s as simple as sharing an experience, or finding new friends, the people are a core component of Solshine.
EDITOR’S NOTE: We’ll be sure to have plenty of stickers on hand to share with anyone that wants one!
10. Unforgettable Memories
Last but not least, the memories that you make at the Solshine are what truly matter. The exciting performances, the people you meet, and the fun activities all contribute to making unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.
